Liz weighs 159, five lbs away from her healthy weight goal of 154.

Elizabeth Caldwell (Liz) has had Graves disease, and the radiation treatment damaged her thyroid, leaving her to be on maintenance meds all her life. Being a truck driver out of Canada, she’s constantly traveling through the territories, and it can get pretty crazy with the hours and with no consistent schedule.

For Liz, GLOBESITY FOUNDATION’S HEALTHY WEIGHT BOOTCAMP “is a life saver (and) the only thing that has helped” her. Inspired by the coaches, Liz did a lot of research about how to get healthy. Then, she focused on getting into a healthy eating regimen.

Her secrets? Liz cuts down on starchy meals. She doesn’t eat later than 6 PM. She prepares her food in portions for the week, so she knows that she’s not overeating. Her exercise consists of walking her dog a couple of times a day. She dances on her driver seat, moving every part of her body. The rigorous activity is complemented by making sure that she gets 7 to 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

Does she cheat? Liz allows herself a cheat meal every two weeks with a good carb meal. For Liz, it’s all mental. “If you mess up one day, don’t worry about it and get back to it the next. My first two months was hard, but I’m on my third now and it’s gotten a lot easier.”
