Global warehouse robotics provider Exotec has strengthened its UK expansion efforts by appointing Ada Ajoku as Head of UK Projects and Bassem Awada as Vice President of Business Development. These strategic hires follow the successful deployment of Exotec’s Skypod system for Alliance Automotive Group UK (AAG) at their new Sheffield warehouse.

Ada Ajoku brings over 15 years of experience in the automation industry, most notably from her time at Dematic, where she rose from Project Manager to Director of EMEA. She holds a degree in electronic and communications engineering from the University of Nottingham and a master’s in project management from the University of Warwick. In her new role, Ada will oversee Exotec’s UK project portfolio, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure efficient execution and deployment across the region.

Commenting on her appointment, Ada said, “I’m excited to join Exotec’s talented projects team and contribute to delivering best-in-class solutions for customers across the UK. I look forward to supporting the ongoing partnership with AAG UK and helping Exotec on its path to becoming a global leader in robotics automation.”

Bassem Awada joins from Amazon, where he spent eight years in operations, retail, and cloud technology, most recently as Head of the AWS EMEA Marketing Response Centre. With an MBA from Warwick Business School and degrees from the University of Sheffield and the University of Leeds, Bassem will focus on identifying strategic growth opportunities and partnerships in the UK market as part of Exotec’s expansion efforts.

Bassem said, “I’m thrilled to be joining Exotec at this pivotal stage of its development. The UK presents significant growth potential, and I’m eager to bring in new customers, address their challenges, and provide tailored solutions as we continue to build momentum in Western Europe.”

Thomas Genestar, Managing Director of Western Europe at Exotec, added, “The addition of Ada and Bassem to our team will be crucial to advancing our UK operations. Ada’s deep understanding of logistics and Bassem’s expertise in customer relations will accelerate our growth in this key market. We look forward to future successes and new customer wins as we expand our footprint in the UK.”
