SurgeU’s financial education program aims to teach students the skills necessary to deftly self-manage their investments and take charge of their own financial future.

The platform offers a comprehensive curriculum with both in-person and online courses.

The saying “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime” is part of the foundational fabric that powers SurgeU. So, too, is the ethos that self-described gurus need not apply to SurgeU’s teaching positions.

“We want to make sure that we have instructors, especially for advanced classes, that actually practice what they preach, and they are not book-smart academics without real-world experience,” says Jeremy Nosek, chief strategy officer for SurgeU.

The curriculum covers a range of topics, including stocks, equities, futures, options, and currencies, including cryptocurrency and forex. This broad approach allows SurgeU to offer customized solutions based on individual student goals and risk tolerances by combining technology with passionate instructors.

“At the end of the day, nobody’s going to care about your money as much as you do,” Nosek emphasizes. “We’re all about financial empowerment. We do have a program to help, and it’s step by step, and it’s hands-on, and we’ll be there to help walk them through it. And so we would just encourage them to start the journey.”

Hands-On Learning and Practical Application

One of SurgeU’s distinguishing features is its emphasis on skill-building rather than mere knowledge acquisition. Nosek likens the learning process to mastering a sport: “Just like if you were learning to play basketball or golf or anything else, watching YouTube videos and reading books is not going to get the job done.”

Students can participate in interactive practice labs, where they can apply concepts in real-time market conditions under instructor guidance. This approach aims to provide students with practical experience and personalized feedback.

A Faith-Based Community of Learners

SurgeU distinguishes itself from other financial educational programs by incorporating faith-focused elements into its curriculum. The program includes regular Kingdom Surge sessions featuring worship and inspirational messages.

This faith-based approach extends to the program’s overall mission. Nosek references a biblical principle as motivation for financial education: “The Bible says a wise man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, and that means our goal should not be to make it to the goal line so that our last check bounces. We should be doing better than that.”

SurgeU emphasizes community-building among its students, encouraging peer support and mentorship. The program explores ways to nourish local communities through physical meetups, networking, and online groups.

“It’s a really important mission for us to be on,” Nosek adds. “And we hope that that’s just part of the spark that ignites a movement to put a huge focus on this area.”

In addition to financial markets, SurgeU also offers training on building wealth through real estate, and plans to expand its offerings to cover various aspects of business education. Future subjects may address topics such as business startups, growth strategies, and exit planning.

SurgeU’s launch comes at a time when many Americans are concerned about their financial futures.

Financial strain from daily expenses tops the list of monetary concerns affecting mental well-being, with 59% of individuals reporting it significantly impacts their psychological health, according to the website Bankrate.

“Most people do not feel like they’re going to be able to maintain their standard of living inside of retirement. That’s a problem,” Nosek points out.

By providing tools and education to help individuals take control of their financial futures, SurgeU aims to address a critical problem in today’s trying times. Another goal is to multiply wealth for the collective community and give back to others.

“What are you doing for other people? What are you doing for generational wealth for your families?” Rob Collins, chief marketing officer at SurgeU, queries.

 

“Whether that’s supporting the homeless shelter or the food bank [in] your local community or doing something else God put on your heart.

 

“As people are increasing the resources, the whole idea, the whole filter is: What are you doing for kingdom impact?”
