dmg media names Reinhardt Biermann as Head of Legal and Commercial

dmg media has appointed Reinhardt Biermann as Head of Legal and Commercial, overseeing the company’s in-house legal team.

Biermann comes from Slaughter and May, where he was a Senior Associate specializing in Technology, Digital, Data, and IP.

During his tenure at Slaughter and May, he played a key role in high-profile transactions, including dmg media’s joint venture with News UK to merge their print operations. He has been seconded to dmg media since May of this year.

In his new position, Biermann will report to both Rich Caccappolo, CEO of dmg media, and Tim Collier, CEO of DMGT.

He will provide strategic legal guidance to support the company’s commercial goals, manage commercial transactions, including licensing agreements, joint ventures, and M&A activities, and advise on regulatory matters.

Liz Hartley, Group Editorial Legal Director at dmg media, and her team will continue to handle all editorial legal issues.

Rich Caccappolo, CEO of dmg media, expressed enthusiasm about Biermann’s appointment, noting his extensive experience in print and digital publishing and his insightful contributions during the News UK transaction.
