The State of SAP Careers in the Czech Republic: Trends and Opportunities

The Czech Republic, long known for its industrial heritage and strategic location in the centre of mainland Europe, is undergoing a digital transformation. At the heart of this shift is SAP, or Systems, Applications, and Products in data processing. As businesses modernise their operations and adapt to an increasingly data-driven world, the demand for skilled SAP professionals is rising sharply. As a result, this region is rapidly becoming the new SAP hotspot.

The Czech Republic’s Emerging SAP Market

SAP recruitment agency Eursap notes that the Czech Republic has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the EU and a surplus of jobs. The SAP market in particular is thriving, largely due to the country’s increasing relevance as a nearshoring destination.

With a highly educated workforce, competitive labour costs, and excellent infrastructure, the Czech Republic is ideal for hosting shared services and IT centres. SAP has become the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) backbone for many of these organisations.

Industries such as automotive, pharmaceuticals, and financial services are increasingly leaning on SAP solutions to manage operations. Furthermore, Czech-based subsidiaries of global corporations are often tasked with SAP rollout, support, or integration projects, boosting internal demand for SAP talent.

    SAP in Czech Enterprises

Czech enterprises are fast realising that SAP is more than an ERP solution — it’s a digital innovation platform. With tools like SAP S/4HANNA, SAP Fiori, and SAP Business Technology Platform, companies can achieve operational agility, streamline supply chains, and provide better customer experiences.

Large Czech firms have adopted SAP to modernise manufacturing processes under Industry 4.0 initiatives. Similarly, many public sector organisations are adopting SAP to improve transparency and efficiency in governance and public service delivery. From telecommunications providers like O2 Czech Republic to consulting firms like MIBCON and PREGIS, a.s., SAP has become a cornerstone of Czech business.

This digital momentum is supported by the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility, which allocates significant funding for digitalisation across the region, including the Czech Republic.

Challenges & Opportunities for SAP Professionals

While the demand for SAP professionals in the Czech Republic is strong, the local market faces some challenges. Chief among them is a growing skills gap. There simply aren’t enough certified professionals to meet the growing demand. This opens up a major opportunity for both local job seekers and international SAP talent.

Getting certified in SAP modules like FI/CO (Finance and Controlling), SD (Sales and Distribution), and MM (Materials Management) can dramatically increase employability. Employers are also increasingly valuing soft skills, such as project management, communication, and business process understanding.

Meanwhile, Czech universities and private institutions are ramping up efforts to train new SAP consultants. The presence of SAP University Alliances in the region is further helping to bridge this talent gap.

The Future of SAP in the Czech Republic

The future of SAP in the Czech Republic looks promising, particularly as technologies like AI, machine learning, and process automation become central to enterprise strategies. Tools like SAP AI Core and SAP Intelligent Robotic Process Automation are already being piloted across Czech enterprises, particularly in finance and HR departments.

At the same time, sustainability is becoming a hot topic. Many Czech firms are using SAP’s sustainability management tools to track emissions and streamline environmental reporting, driven both by corporate responsibility and evolving EU regulations.

The integration of SAP with cloud services like Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud is also facilitating hybrid environments, making SAP more accessible to SMEs and startups.
