The deadline to apply for a TechCrunch Disrupt volunteer position at this year’s conference is Tuesday, 22 September, and available spots are filling up. Once they are gone, the programme does not reopen until 2026’s cycle begins again.
The conference itself runs 13–15 October at Moscone West, 800 Howard Street, San Francisco. Volunteer shifts, however, begin as early as Saturday, 10 October, covering the three days ahead of the conference and all three conference days themselves.
What the TechCrunch Disrupt Volunteer Role Actually Involves
Prospective applicants should know the commitment upfront. A minimum of 12 hours is required before or during the conference, and an in-person orientation takes place on the afternoon of Monday, 12 October. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. A San Francisco base is preferred but not a hard requirement.
There is also a deposit. TechCrunch describes it as a trust mechanism, intended to ensure every roster slot goes to someone who will actually show up rather than drop out closer to the event.
What volunteers receive in return is the full three-day pass, which would otherwise cost them at least $1,049 as a standard Attendee Pass or $1,199 for an Investor Pass, according to the TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 tickets page.
The Scale of What Volunteers Step Into
The event draws more than 10,000 attendees and is projected to facilitate over 20,000 connections, according to the TechCrunch Disrupt event homepage. Alumni of Startup Battlefield, the conference’s flagship competition, have collectively raised $32 billion since the programme launched.
This year’s Startup Battlefield 200 puts 20 handpicked pre-Series A companies on stage competing for the Disrupt Cup, a $100,000 prize, with all competitors also exhibiting on the show floor. Details are available via the TechCrunch Disrupt attendee portal.
Programming runs across six stages, with more than 200 sessions led by over 250 tech leaders. One session already generating attention: all five Benchmark partners will appear together on the Disrupt Stage for the first time in San Francisco. The full schedule is on the TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 agenda.
For those who want a presence beyond attending, exhibit tables at Disrupt 2026 each include five all-access Exhibitor-Partner passes valued at $2,500 apiece, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, as outlined on the TechCrunch Disrupt exhibit page. The deadline to book an exhibit table is 18 September.
Badge collection opens on 12 October from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. PT at Moscone Center West. Attendees and volunteers alike must bring their ticket and a government-issued photo ID; badges cannot be collected on someone else’s behalf.
The TechCrunch Disrupt volunteer application closes 22 September. After that, the only way in is through a paid ticket, and those prices are only going to rise.
