In 2025, Nagaraj Garimalla and the Protech Solutions, Inc., team launched Compass AI. This streamlined platform combines four systems and delivers proven solutions to state agencies in areas such as verifying and enforcing child support payments. Compass AI includes Core Case Management, AI Assist, Track My Cases, and Good Grid, each of which has a proven industry application, demonstrated through deployments across multiple state programs.

Tailored, scalable, and future-focused, Compass AI delivers cloud-native solutions that honor states’ existing IT capacities and directions. Modernization capacities help bring down operational costs and ensure that services reach the families that need them the most.

The Core Case Management component leverages a pioneering, federally certified child support enforcement CSE system. It forms the industry standard when it comes to accurate, cost-effective case management. Driving the system is Protech Core Certified Microservices (PCCM), which collects system components that together provide a reliable microservices architecture. Vendor flexibility is emphasized, with traditional large-scale child support systems broken down into discrete, independent services. Each of these fulfills a specialized function, such as document handling, payment processing, and caseload management.

As a result, state agencies can now opt for services on an ala carte basis, utilizing only those that they actually need. This adaptability provides for seamless integration with existing systems, while enabling communications with various vendors. Improvements and updates are more quickly disseminated and less disruptive, errors are reduced, and the handling of cases is accelerated. Families ultimately reap the benefit of services that are more accessible and reliable.

The AI Assist component of Compass AI is technically known as AI for Human Services (A2HS). This encompasses a suite of AI tools that enable government partners to better understand and manage the complexities of social services, particularly in high-volume environments.

At the heart of the platform is Learning Spaces, which provides users with chatbot-guided real-time support. Contact center bots possess advanced, mission-specific capabilities. For example, the RAG bot undertakes analysis of incoming messages, providing tailored responses that help resolve complex questions and provide referrals.

The multi-channel backend capabilities are connected with Microsoft and WhatsApp platforms, and employ large language models that support multiple languages and wide-ranging user interactions. In addition, SDLC Assist enables a streamlined development lifecycle by producing system design documents, requirement specifications, test scripts, API designs, and test cases from transcripts. This translates into systems that are quickly and efficiently upgraded to accommodate evolving agency needs.

The Track My Cases (TMC) element applies AI and predictive analytics to streamline the client management process. It takes the place of complex, manual processes that slow down large caseloads, with a user-friendly dashboard combining real-time insights and an overview of case activities. It prioritizes cases and provides caseworkers with alerts that enable them to proactively resolve issues and ensure compliance. Case progress no longer needs to be tracked across various systems, which helps improve outcomes and ensures no one slips through the gaps.

Nagaraj Garimalla and his team deploy Good Grid as a way of focusing on social care referral management. This part of the Compass AI connects clients with the specific resources they need. It takes input from social care leaders and nonprofits, and connects it with government agencies. Data-driven insights are anchored by elements such as a searchable directory of resources, closed-loop referrals, and a social determinants of health screener. The platform also meets strict HIPAA mandates governing secure data management.
