TUAL Tackles Range Challenges for Electric HGVs with Swappable PowerBank Solution

TUAL has unveiled its groundbreaking, swappable PowerBank system designed to extend the range of electric heavy goods vehicles (eHGVs), enhancing route flexibility and reducing downtime. Available in 120kWh and 180kWh capacities, these units can be swapped in under five minutes, significantly boosting vehicle up-time and adding up to 120 miles to an eHGV’s range, depending on usage.

The growing adoption of eHGVs has been hindered by the lack of public megawatt charging stations, which limits their operational range and charging options. TUAL’s PowerBank addresses this gap by offering a fully compatible, flexible charging solution that integrates with existing eHGV platforms, developed in partnership with leading European fleet operators.

Philip Clarke, TUAL’s CEO and Founder, highlights the importance of this innovation: “The transition to electric HGVs is vital for meeting environmental targets, but limited charging infrastructure is a major barrier. Our swappable PowerBanks offer a flexible, ready-to-deploy solution that keeps eHGV fleets moving without relying on delayed public megawatt charging networks.”

This modular technology enables fleet operators to bypass the grid’s limitations, reducing strain on local power systems and supporting continuous operation. As the demand for sustainable transport intensifies, TUAL’s PowerBank system sets a new standard for advancing the electrification of heavy goods vehicles.
