Members of The Royal Ballet School receive a host of benefits to thank them for their generous support. These perks range from exclusive event invitations to insider content delivered to their inboxes. Now, the School has launched its latest benefit for digital members: an online screening of their Upper School Solos Evening performance.

On 21 March 2025, 1st, 2nd, and Pre-professional Year students performed solo variations from classical repertoire at Upper School’s Linden Theatre. The Royal Ballet School filmed the event, which members could access online via a joining link.

Those who could not make the event received a recording so they could enjoy the performance at a later date.

The Royal Ballet School’s Digital Membership

In addition to the Solos Evening, those who sign up for the digital membership receive:

    • Invitations to three online events per year – these may be classes or performances
    • An email newsletter featuring content from behind the scenes at the School
    • Access to Summer Performance tickets before these go on sale to the public
    • 10% off shop products — online and in-person — and video-on-demand classes

The digital membership is £65, or £45 for young members aged 16-30.

    Bronze, Silver, and Gold Members

Those donating at the highest levels become Royal Ballet School Bronze, Silver, and Gold members. On top of the benefits above, these members receive invitations to attend preview performances of the School’s prestigious Ninette de Valois Choreographic Programme.

Three performances take place each year in central London and Richmond Park. Bronze members receive one invitation to each performance, and Silver and Gold members receive two.

Gold members also receive two invitations to an Open Studio Day, where they can watch classes at Upper School in Covent Garden.

Bronze memberships are £250, Silver memberships are £500, and Gold memberships are £750. Those who want to become members can sign up via direct debit to start their annual membership on a date of their choice.

    Other Ways to Donate

Some members prefer to donate a one-off gift via the School’s online donation form.

    Other donation opportunities include:

    • Joining the Esprit de Corps to support equal opportunities and performances
    • Joining the Patron’s Circle to sponsor the Student and Stage Funds
    • Funding the Scholarships and Bursaries Programme
    • Joining the Centenary Circle to support the School’s General Fund
    • Partnering with the School on pioneering projects to ensure a sustainable future
    • Joining the Dame Ninette Circle by leaving a gift in a will

Approximately 90% of current full-time students receive financial support to attend the School. Donations allow these students to receive a world-class standard of training as they prepare for their careers.

These donations are essential given the flatlining government support available and the continuously increasing economic pressures on students’ families.

Membership funds support The Royal Ballet School’s studios, outstanding teachers, food and nutrition, healthcare, pastoral support, boarding facilities, costumes, and performances.

    Becoming A Member

Given the membership benefits on offer, becoming a Royal Ballet School member doesn’t only mean supporting the growth of the next generation of ballet dancers. It also means becoming part of a community that thrives off the inspiration of dance.

Members have described being part of this community as “an amazing privilege” and an opportunity to “celebrate the power of dance each new day.”
