Paysend Strengthens Visa Partnership with New Initiative to Advance Cross-Border Payment Solutions
Paysend has announced an expansion of its long-standing partnership with Visa through a new initiative designed to enhance cross-border payment capabilities. The move will see Paysend’s Enterprise API — a powerful technology interface that allows businesses to integrate Paysend’s payment infrastructure directly into their systems — made available to Visa merchants and partners across North America. The development builds upon years of successful collaboration between the two companies in facilitating global money movement.
Since 2023, Paysend and Visa have worked in tandem to enable real-time money transfers to Visa debit cards in more than 100 markets and territories. This partnership has helped reduce payment delays and improve transparency in international transactions. The new phase of collaboration will integrate Paysend’s advanced technology with Visa’s extensive network, accelerating adoption among Visa’s merchant and collaborator ecosystem and allowing more businesses to offer seamless, real-time money transfers.
“Our ongoing collaboration with Paysend demonstrates the value of combining Visa’s global reach with innovative payment technology,” said Justin Zhao, Head of Global Partnerships and Sales at Visa Direct. “With this next phase, we are addressing common challenges in cross-border payments and helping to set new expectations for speed, transparency, and convenience in the industry.”
In September, the strengthened partnership was spotlighted in the launch of the latest season of the Paysend Series — the company’s flagship interview programme featuring industry leaders and emerging trends. Filmed at Visa’s headquarters in San Francisco, the opening episode featured Justin Zhao of Visa Direct and marked the beginning of a new season dedicated to exploring the future of cross-border payments and digital financial innovation.

Rick Castello, Head of North America Sales at Paysend, said: “Visa has been a key strategic partner for us over the years, and this next step is a game-changer. By making our Enterprise API available through Visa’s network, we’re bringing instant, secure payments to even more people and businesses. Having the new ‘Paysend Series’ in partnership with Visa serving as the opening move in our co-branding campaign, we’re showing the world how this collaboration is reshaping the future of cross-border money movement.”
Paysend continues to partner with Central Payments — the programme manager for Paysend U.S. — to deliver backend payment processing and maintain regulatory compliance across all transactions.
